Mastering the Colgada - Intensive workshops with Bill and Mariana
The classic show figure, Colgada, has emerged as a dynamic element in contemporary Tango styles. However, incorporating Colgada into your dance can be challenging. Fortunately, your community instructors have been diligently working to bring you the tools you need to improve your dance. After a month of studying the Colgada at the esteemed dance academy, Casa Del Tango, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bill and Mariana will be offering instruction on this complex and challenging tango figure. Bill will use his background in exercise science and 25 years of personal training to “break-apart” and analyze the movement in a way that you can understand. Depending on student interest and progression, the class will be offered in a series of 2 hour workshops. The first one will be offered on September 25th, 2010 at a location to be announced. This class will concentrate on the essential mechanics necessary to “engineer” the Colgada into your dance repertoire.
